All hearts for Shibani Dandekar's wedding dress

You have been living under a rock if you didn’t know long time sweethearts Farhan Akhtar and Shibani Dandekar got married recently. The couple exchanged vows on 19th February in an intimate ceremony held at Javed Akhtar’s farmhouse in Khandala, Maharashtra last week.

The couple’s close family and friends, including actor Hrithik Roshan, director Ashutosh Gowariker, composer Ehsaan Noorani, actor Rhea Chakraborty and many others were in attendance.

Shibani broke the norms of a white wedding and donned a beautiful red custom-designed ensemble for her big day. Designed by JADE by Monica and Karishma and styled by the popular celebrity stylist, Shaleena Nathani, the red top and skirt set is a fresh take on a traditional wedding dress. Made from special French Chantilly Lace and hand embroidered by master artisans on their signature Vermillion Red palette, Dandekar’s outfit was a sight to behold.

The outfit although looks like a gown, is actually a bustier top paired with a mermaid style skirt. To top it off, she wore a delicate veil with a cathedral length train that flowed effortlessly behind her as she walked. Her makeup was minimal with soft curls and accessorized her outfit with ruby red earrings from Goenka India and pointed-toe Aquazurra heels in red.

Brides are all about minimal aesthetic these days and Shibani embodied minimalism in all its glory by opting for a simple red lace outfit on a nude base. Although veils are not new to Indian weddings, it is interesting to see the way in which it is worn in recent times.

From Katrina Kaif adorning a pastel floral veil on a saree for her reception to Shibani wearing it on a crop top skirt set, veils are becoming increasingly popular among brides.

Farhan Akhtar on the other hand looked dapper in a custom made black tuxedo from Govinda Mehta. The two complemented each other beautifully and looked like a perfect happy couple ♡.
